  Photograph of a small farm. The field has not been tilled for the summer because corn stalks still stick up from the ground. Several houses can be seen at the back of the field. Jefferson would often use the same negative to create a lantern slide as well as a mounted stereographic card.   Cottonwood trees growing in the Public Gardens in Boston, Massachusetts. Several different types of trees also grow in the area, but the cottonwoods are the tallest. A small building can be seen at the end of the stone path, between the surrounding trees. The tree's are being blown by the wind.
