  Covered Bridge. Franklin, New Hampshire. "Covered bridge Franklin, New Hampshire. August 1929"
  Photograph of a covered bridge located in Franklin, New Hampshire. It is noted the picture was taken in August of 1929. Signs on the bridge read, "Warning: Persons driving horses across this bridge faster than a walk are liable to a fine of five dollars. City of Franklin," and, "Notice: Vehicle and load limit - 4 tons. Speed limit 10 ml per hour. City of Franklin." The covered bridge has a main tunnel for cars and horses but also has a secondary walkway to the left for pedestrians. Power Lines attach to the front of the bridge and steel girders can be seen on the side of the bridge, offering support underneath. Jefferson would often use the same negative to create a lantern slide as well as a mounted stereographic card. When possible we have indicated if it is a repeat image, however this is not always the case.   Photograph of cowboys standing by their horses as they adjust their saddles. The landscape is flat and grassy with no trees. A wire fence divides the property in the foreground and several other horse stand behind the cowboys.   Crater of Castle Geyser. Upper geyser basin. Yellowstone Park
  The crater of Castle Geyser in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. This cone geyser is located in the Upper Geyser Basin and erupts regularly every 10 to 20 minutes. Large mineral deposits form the cone of the geyser and create a castle-like appearance. Water and other mineral deposits can be seen around the cone and trees can be seen in the background.

Heavy mineral deposits create steps and formations around the mouth of the geyser, and water fills the pools created by the deposits. The landscape is barren due to the high levels of minerals in the water, but trees grow on the edge of the mineral field in the background.

  A crater of a hot spring in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Mineral formations coat the crater walls from water that used to fill the crater. It is noted that this area periodically fills with water from the springs.

  A man's looks into the crater of the Giant Geyser in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. The geyser is a cone type geyser that erupts infrequently but can reach 250 ft. when it does erupt. The cone is approximately 12 ft. tall and is surrounded by a mineral deposit field. Trees grow on the edge of the mineral field because most other vegetation is killed from the sediments in the water of the erupting geysers. Dead trees can be seen in the background.

  A cresting wave in the Niagara Falls rapids in New York. It is noted that these waves seem to happen at rhythmic periods. Strong currents create huge rapids in the river as water travels around the rocks in the riverbed. Dense vegetation covers the bank on the opposite side of the river.
