  Looking out over a mountainous landscape that has been affected by deforestation in Wu-tai-shan, China. Farmers have created artificial terracing to utilize what is left of the soil on top of the mountains. There are no trees and the landscape is sparse, except for the fields. Mountains can be seen in the background.

  Image of the ancient Delphi Stadium in Greece. Built in the 5th century B.C.E., it was used for athletic and musical events. The left side of the stadium was originally built up but has since collapsed and lays in ruins. The stadium sits in a hillside with large boulders surrounding it.

  Delta. Pond. Brockton. June 1901
  A small pond outside of a factory area in Brockton, Massachusetts. Several buildings sit on the banks of the pond and are most likely part of an industrial complex based on the cooling tower to the right. A wooden bridge was constructed to cross the water and a stone wall divides the waterline from the buildings. Scrub bushes can be seen in the foreground.

  Streetscape with bicycles in the middle of the street. Pedestrians walk on the sidewalk and in the street. The picture appears to have been taken in summer or spring due to the foliage of the trees. French Empire architecture buildings can be seen lining the street.
