Description
-
Shinimo Altar in Marble Canyon, Arizona. It is noted on the slide this rock formation is in Colorado, but it is part of Marble Canyon on the northern part of the Grand Canyon. The steep, stepped canyon walls can be seen in the background and there is little vegetation. The large formation looks like stacked rocks and has a large crack running vertically through the entire formation. The landscape in the background where the Colorado River has not cut through the bedrock is flat and barren, and there is a large rock plateau in the distance.
