Image from a published source. aerial picture of the Pachitea River in Peru. A machine, or maquina, can be seen sitting on the bank. It is noted that the area is too forested and a failed colony used to be here. There is some clear cut ground near the machine, presumably where the colony was. Slide labeled with text, "Made by G.R. Swain, 713 E. University Ave., Ann Arbor, Michigan." Swain was staff photographer at U of M from 1913 to 1947.
