Description
-
Gray's and Torrey's Peaks in the background from Mt. McClellan in Colorado. Mt. McClellan is known to be the highest altitude ever reached by an adhesion rail line in the United States after the installation of the Argentine Central Railway, which connected Silver Plume and Waldorf, Colorado in 1905. The image shows Torrey's Peak to the right and Gray's Peak to the left, both of which have large snowpacks on their faces. The landscape is rocky and barren in the foreground.
