Looking over Pikes Peak from the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Garden of the Gods park is a nationally recognized and protected area in Colorado Springs that features sedimentary beds of red, pink, and white sandstone and limestone that originally formed horizontally but have been pushed up through the earth vertically after the formation of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountain Range. Pikes Peak is the highest summit in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains at 14,115'. The landscape in the picture is sandy and rocky with low-growing shrub bushes.
