Most likely a photostat, the picture was taken in the Puget Sound Valley in Washington. The landscape is mountainous and rocky with little vegetation other than trees. A horse stands on the roadway eating grass and a farm can be seen in the background, surrounded by wooden fences. Mountains can be seen in the background. Slide labeled with text, "Made by G.R. Swain, 713 E. University Ave., Ann Arbor, Michigan." Swain was staff photographer at U of M from 1913 to 1947.
