Allegan State Park. Big beech trees to south by southwest. All limbs face towards lake

Description
-
Large Beech trees in Allegan State Park in Allegan, Michigan. It is noted that all of the limbs of the trees face towards the lake, presumably because it was easier for their limbs to grow out over the water where they were not competing for space. A wooden fence row divides the trees from the lake to the right and smaller trees grow beside the tall Beech's. Slide labeled with text, "Made by G.R. Swain, 713 E. University Ave., Ann Arbor, Michigan." Swain was staff photographer at U of M from 1913 to 1947.
