Description
-
Up-close view of the trunk of an Acer saccharom tree. Commonly known as a Sugar Maple tree, these trees are fast growing softwoods that have brightly colored leaves in the fall. The bark appears to peel like paper from the trunk and branch knots can be seen further up the tree where the limbs were likely trimmed. The tree is planted in a row of other maples that grow next to a sidewalk. All of the trees in the picture appear to be relatively young.
