Description
-
Photograph of a tidewater house identified as belonging to De Press in McClellanville, South Carolina. The house is a story-and-a-half structure that is constructed on brick pillars to lift it off the ground to avoid flooding. A large porch wraps around the entire first floor of the house and a portion of it is screened off to the left. Wall dormers can be seen on the roof, on either side of the main entrance. Two chimney stacks rise out of the roofline and dense vegetation surrounds the house, offering shade on most sides. A dog stands in the yard in the foreground.
