Tupelo Gum Trees in a Cypress swamp. The gum trees are like Cypress Tree's with flared bases and are relative in size but they do not have flutes like Cypress Trees. They commonly grow in swamps and floodplains in the Southern United States. Dense moss covers the bases of the gum trees and small scrub bushes can be seen sticking out of the water around the tree bases.

Upper Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. With the highest concentration of geothermal features in the park, the Upper Geyser Basin includes the Old Faithful Geyser, Castle Geyser, Grand Geyser, Daisy Geyser, and Riverside Geyser. Yellowstone National Park sits on top of a the Yellowstone Hotspot, a volcanic region of molten lava under the mantle of the earth, causing this region of the country to have a tremendous amount of geothermal activity. The image shows the steam coming out of the geysers and hot spots on the landscape, which is mostly barren from all of the minerals that are pushed to the surface with the boiling ground water. Small trees can be seen on the plateau along with short grasses. Hills can be seen in the background.
