In 2024, the city of Ann Arbor celebrated its 200th anniversary with year long festivities ranging from art installations, festivals, community events, and more. To wrap up the celebrations at the end of the year, AA200 coordinators invited the EMU Center for Oral History Research to document the stories of Ann Arbor residents and community members. On December 14th, 2024, the community gathered at Skyline High School in Ann Arbor and shared the things that make Ann Arbor special, like the parks, the music scene, and the Kerrytown Farmers Market-just to name a few. These community stories have come together as collection of diverse memories and local histories that prove that Ann Arbor is so much more than just another Midwest college town.
