Peanut harvest.

Item

Title
Peanut harvest.
Photographer
Likely, Mark Jefferson
Description
Photograph of a group of men and a woman overseeing three workers as they harvest peanuts. The engine powering the picking machine in the foreground. A man stands on top observing the machine working. Several wooden crate and metal canisters are stacked on top of each other in front of the engine. Large mounds of sticks and twigs wait to be formed around new peanut plants to the left. Jefferson would often use the same negative to create a lantern slide as well as a mounted stereographic card. When possible we have indicated if it is a repeat image, however this is not always the case. As such, there may be a corresponding digitized glass lantern slide, and a mounted stereographic card associated with this stereographic negative within the Mark Jefferson Collection.
