Description

Wooden baskets being loaded into the hold of the M.V. Georgie in 1937. The baskets are being raised up to the ship in a large net, presumably by an unseen crane. Several men stand on the dock next to the ship, along with a child. Slide labeled with text, "Made by G.R. Swain, 713 E. University Ave., Ann Arbor, Michigan." Swain was staff photographer at U of M from 1913 to 1947.
