Barren trees growing on a hill "Trip to South America. 1918"
Photograph trees and other vegetation taken in South America. The vegetation grows on a hill of dirt. The hill of dirt shows some exposed roots on the ground. Jefferson would often use the same negative to create a lantern slide as well as a mounted stereographic card. When possible we have indicated if it is a repeat image, however this is not always the case. As such, there may be a corresponding digitized glass lantern slide, and a mounted stereographic card associated with this stereographic negative within the Mark Jefferson Collection. -

Photograph of pedestrians walking down a street taken in South America. The pedestrians walk passed a cinema and a resturant. Barren trees line the sidewalk. A man sits on a horse drawn wagon in the dirt road. -
Barren walnut tree "Black Walnut, 1936"
Photograph of a black walnut tree. The trees are barren of foliage. A tree trunk can be seen in the midground. Houses can be seen in the background. -

Bates' Slang. Elmwood. December 1900
Landscape of a river valley in Elmwood, Massachusetts. A winding stream cuts through the landscape and creates valleys between the grassy hills. Trees cover the hills and a wooden post fence divides a property boundary in the foreground. Several houses can be seen in the background along with shrubs and other scrub trees.
