  Arroyo del Puerco. Tejidos. Women goods. Only advertising in village
  Streetscape in Arroyo del Puerco, Spain. A woman sells wares in one bay of a building while other merchants occupy the other arched bays. A man and a child walk by the woman selling wares. It is noted that this is the only advertising in the village. Slide labeled with text, "Made by G.R. Swain, 713 E. University Ave., Ann Arbor, Michigan." Swain was staff photographer at U of M from 1913 to 1947.

  Students in an art class, presumably at Michigan State Normal College, now Eastern Michigan University. The students are sitting behind large drafting tables that have white canvas' on them. The professor stands at the front of the classroom by the blackboard, which has different geometric designs on it.

  Ash deposits and block showing impact. Northside Kilauea. 1921
  Ash deposits after an eruption of Kilauea in Hawaii in 1921. An umbrella has been placed next to a rock in the soil layers to show size perspective and how the rock caused a crater in the top soil until it was eventually filled in with more ash. The ash layers have been compounded and now appear to have loose, rocky striations. A tree grows on top of the embankment.

  Landscape of ash deposits in a pit from volcanic eruptions of Kilauea in Hawaii. It is noted this is the trail to the fire pit and the picture was taken on the north side in 1921. The landscape is hilly with vegetation on either side of the trail. Ash walls are on either side and rocks are scattered on the ground.

  Ash deposits on the north side of the Kilauea pit in 1921 in Hawaii. It is noted that the deposits are resting on a bed of hardened lava, which can be seen at the bottom of the picture. Vegetation grows out of the ashen soil and covers the top of the embankment.

  Ash tree. Gilmanton, New Hampshire"June 1, 1926. Gilmanton, New Hampshire"
  Image of an Ash Tree coming into bloom in June of 1926 in Gilmanton, New Hampshire. The tree is sprouting small buds which will eventually opened into leaves. Large boulders surround the tree and vegetation grows up between the boulders in the foreground. A small town can be seen in the valley at the base of the hill, as more hills rise in the background. Jefferson would often use the same negative to create a lantern slide as well as a mounted stereographic card. When possible we have indicated if it is a repeat image, however this is not always the case. As such, there may be a corresponding digitized glass lantern slide, and a mounted stereographic card associated with this stereographic negative within the Mark Jefferson Collection.

  Ashore Boat "Unidentified"
  Photograph of the shoreline of a beach. A row boat can be seen on the shore. Bushes and other vegetation grow on the along with the sand. Jefferson would often use the same negative to create a lantern slide as well as a mounted stereographic card. When possible we have indicated if it is a repeat image, however this is not always the case. As such, there may be a corresponding digitized glass lantern slide, and a mounted stereographic card associated with this stereographic negative within the Mark Jefferson Collection.

  Corner cafe with doors open around the building. Scrolling cantilever brackets hold up a steel jetty to offer shade over the sidewalk. Chairs and tables can be seen sitting on the sidewalk.

  An image of a donkey with wicker baskets loaded on it's sides. It is standing in the street next to a sidewalk in Athens.
