    Photograph trees and other vegetation taken in South America. The vegetation grows on a hill of dirt. The hill of dirt shows some exposed roots on the ground. Jefferson would often use the same negative to create a lantern slide as well as a mounted stereographic card. When possible we have indicated if it is a repeat image, however this is not always the case.     Wooden baskets being loaded into the hold of the M.V. Georgie in 1937. The baskets are being raised up to the ship in a large net, presumably by an unseen crane. Several men stand on the dock next to the ship, along with a child. Slide labeled with text, "Made by G.R. Swain, 713 E. University Ave., Ann Arbor, Michigan." Swain was staff photographer at U of M from 1913 to 1947.
