  A hand-colored image of a volcanic cone of Mount Kilauea in Hawaii. It is noted that the cone is erupting and the photo was taken in 1921. The rocky cone has been formed after years of volcanic eruption settlement. Steam can be seen in the background.

  Boat dock on lake
  Photograph of a boat launch on the banks of a lake. Depicted is are large timbers on the ground used to hoist a boat out of the water onto the bank. A wooden spool on top of the timbers acts as a pulley system to frag the boat onto the shore. Dense vegetation covers the banks of the lake.

  Boat locking through the "Soo"
  A large steamer ship passing through the Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. People can be seen on the decks of the steamer ship, watching the locks work below them. People stand on the docks of the "Soo" and watch the ship pass by. A large three-story pyramid style building can be seen in the background.

  Photograph of a bog. Tall grasses grow sporadically in the water. A person walking in the midground. Stands of trees can be seen in the background.   Bois Blanc. Point Aux Pins. From the Duluth
  Shoreline of Lake Huron near Bois Blanc Island, Michigan, taken from the deck of the Duluth. The captain of the boat is standing on the deck looking out over the lake and the pier next to the boat. People can be seen on the pier either waiting to board the boat or are walking back to shore. The shoreline is sandy with dense trees and other foliage.

  Bolivia. Indian weaver
  Image from a published source. An Indian weaver is sitting on a rock making a rug or poncho in Bolivia. The weaver is using a type of loom called a backstrap loom, where the warps are stretched between two pieces of wood. He is using a shuttles to weave material through the warps.
