  House at 1315 Tamaplais Road in Berkeley, California. The house appears to be Craftsman style with two stories and the house is built into the hill. Several houses built using similar architectural styles can be seen in the background, also built into the hill above the roadway. The landscape is very hilly with sparse vegetation, mostly various grasses. The house appears to be angled in the picture but this is due to the steep grade of the hill.

  Exposed coursed bedrock 2 miles southwest from Bridgewater, Massachusetts. The stone has been eroded over time and the coursing of the rock can be seen in the cliff face. Stones can be seen at the bottom of the cliff. The ground is sandy and covered with dune grass.

  2nd Empire Style house in New England. The house is an elaborate two story Four over Four structure with an extended two story front bay surrounding the main entrance and extending through the roof, which is a shingled Mansard roof style. Two interior chimney rise out of the ridge line on the roof and pedimented wall dormers can be seen on the roof. The front facade has a denticulated cornice and two story pilasters. The first floor windows are floor to ceiling height while the second story has more standard sized windows. Two wings extend off the side of the house and it appears that the structure is abandoned because the lawn is not maintained and the walkway is cracked.   Alabama. Tuskegee. Loafers at courthouse door
  Men standing around the entrance to the courthouse in Tuskegee, Alabama. Referred to as "loafers," the men are sitting in wooden spindle backed chairs and standing in the main entrance way of the courthouse. They are all wearing suit jacket and bowler hats. The building appears to be in some disrepair due to window panes missing above the doorway and piles of stone around the foundation of the structure. Slide labeled with text, "Made by G.R.   Alcatraz Island within Serra do Mar, Brazil. The mountain rises out of the bay and looks similar to Sugarloaf Mountain of Rio de Janeiro. Very rocky with little foliage.   Lava and hardened magma deposits from Mauna Loa in 1920. The landscape is barren and the ashen soil is very loose. Trees can be seen in the background.

  A row of Birch trees in Allegan County Park in Allegan, Michigan. The trees have grown up to be the same size and offer shade behind the row of trees.   Allegan County Park. White poplars on bluff. Leafing out. May 15
  White Poplar trees growing on a sand dune in Allegan County Park in Allegan, Michigan. It is noted that the trees are leafing out and it is May 15th. The trees are growing out of the sandy bluff about Lake Michigan and dune grass covers the landscape closer to the water. The trees are all being blown by the wind.   Allegan State Park. Big beech trees to south by southwest. All limbs face towards lake
  Large Beech trees in Allegan State Park in Allegan, Michigan. It is noted that all of the limbs of the trees face towards the lake, presumably because it was easier for their limbs to grow out over the water where they were not competing for space. A wooden fence row divides the trees from the lake to the right and smaller trees grow beside the tall Beech's. Slide labeled with text, "Made by G.R. Swain, 713 E.   Along earth bank of the western side of whirlpool. Niagara River
  Overlooking the Niagara River from an earthen bank. The main whirlpool of the river can be seen at the base of the cliff, and the opposite bank is rocky and heavily forested. Strong currents are created in the river as the water rushes over submerged rocks in the riverbed.

  The Amazon at 10 degrees South and 68 degrees West in Brazil. The forest is very dense with trees and undergrowth. To the left, the bank has been cut and cleared.   American Foursquare house "Gilmanton, New Hampshire. August 31, 1927"
  Photograph of an American foursquare house. The house has a large dormer on the front facade. A small shed stands to the right of the house. Jefferson would often use the same negative to create a lantern slide as well as a mounted stereographic card. When possible we have indicated if it is a repeat image, however this is not always the case. As such, there may be a corresponding digitized glass lantern slide, and a mounted stereographic card associated with this stereographic negative within the Mark Jefferson Collection.

  Photograph of an American foursquare house. The house has a large dormer on the front facade. A large bush grows in front of the house. Trees grow on the sides of the house. Jefferson would often use the same negative to create a lantern slide as well as a mounted stereographic card. When possible we have indicated if it is a repeat image, however this is not always the case. As such, there may be a corresponding digitized glass lantern slide, and a mounted stereographic card associated with this stereographic negative within the Mark Jefferson Collection.
