An Elm tree growing next to a dirt roadway in Fennville, Michigan. It is noted that this area is 10 miles from Lake Michigan. The tree stands by itself next to cultivated fields and other trees can be seen growing beside a fence row on the other side of the road. All of the trees are being blown by the wind. Slide labeled with text, "Made by G.R. Swain, 713 E. University Ave., Ann Arbor, Michigan." Swain was staff photographer at U of M from 1913 to 1947.
