Description
Largest Russian Orthodox cathedral in the city. It is dedicated to Saint Isaac of Dalmatia, a patron saint of Peter the Great. Built from 1818-1858 by architect Auguste Montferrand. Decorated with sculptures and massive granite columns. The church closed in the 1930s and reopened as a museum. Trees surround the base of the building. Cars parked lower half. Tour busses parked in front with people.
