Image from a published source. El Misti, a volcano near Arequipa, Peru. The photo was taken from the northeast and shows the smooth cone of the volcano where there is no snow other than at the top. A passing cloud casts a shadow on the volcano and the landscape around the volcano is rugged and hilly. Slide labeled with text, "Made by G.R. Swain, 713 E. University Ave., Ann Arbor, Michigan." Swain was staff photographer at U of M from 1913 to 1947.
