Eastern Michigan University Homecoming Oral Histories

Every October, EMU oral history graduate and undergraduate students bring the EMU Aerie—a mobile oral history recording booth—to EMU Homecoming on the lawn of Rynearson Stadium to capture the memories and stories of EMU alumi and students. 15-minute mini interviews are recorded throughout the day. The Aerie has become a fixture at Homecoming, with a steady stream of interviewees and visitors gathering around the booth to chat with one another, as you will hear in the recordings which are complete with tailgate DJs and marching bands. Every year, the oral history tailgate grows as new members make their way to us, and into EMU history.
