Tents near tree line.

Item

Title
Tents near tree line.
Photographer
Likely, Mark Jefferson
Description
Photograph of a tent camp in a forest landscape. Ten canvas tents are set up on the edge of a forest. The tents are large in comparison to modern camping tents and are set up on wooden supports to give the canvas stability. A man walks in the field around the tents, giving perspective to the size of the trees in the background. Boulders cover the field and tall grasses grow up between them in the foreground. Jefferson would often use the same negative to create a lantern slide as well as a mounted stereographic card. When possible we have indicated if it is a repeat image, however this is not always the case. As such, there may be a corresponding digitized glass lantern slide, and a mounted stereographic card associated with this stereographic negative within the Mark Jefferson Collection.
