Photographer

Description
Hand-colored image of a banana blossom from Hawaii. Banana plants are the largest flowering herbaceous plants and grow out of "corm's" that sit low to the ground. They are not trees but have thick false stem. The flowering portions of the plant can be male or female and are produced close to the leaves at the top of the plant. The flowers can then turn into fruit.
