Eastern Michigan University is an institution of learning with an historic past. Now, thanks to the University Archives and the EMU Oral History program, the stories and memories of the people who have sustained EMU throughout the years have a place to be recorded and preserved—and it will travel to meet them where they are. The EMU Aerie, the EMU Archives’ mobile oral history recording booth, makes it possible for members of the campus and Ypsilanti communities to record their stories for posterity from the familiar confines of their own driveways and front yards. The Aerie will allow EMU and Ypsilanti to make history in real time, together.
